This week’s Preaux Tip is one that we often get…. “How should I pack my dry bag?”
You may notice on our Trek 1 packing list that it is recommended to bring two 20L dry bags. How you choose to pack those bags is entirely up to you, but our Preaux Staff do have a few packing tips and tricks they would like to share.

A visual does a much better job of illustrating the message rather than a lengthy explanation of where items should be. The most important factor to consider is ease of access to items that you will need often or in an emergency. Items like first aid items (EpiPens and inhalers), sunscreen, and snacks are items you don’t want to go digging for on the water. Those items should ALWAYS be at the top of your bag.
Separating your two bags, one as a “camp” bag and one as a “trail” bag also offers a little more ease in access as well as ensuring that camp items stay safe and dry. Other items like your water bottles, sunglasses, etc. can be out of your bag and within reach at all times.
This illustration is intended to be a suggestion. Comment below if you having a packing Preaux tip that helped you or would've helped you on your Swamp Base Trek, and as always, if you have a question, please reach out to our Preaux Staff who are happy to help!
